How we all doing out there sports fans? What with the fuel and the tropical cyclone bearing down on us, if you’re feeling a little…overwhelmed, we don’t blame you! We love to joke about Perth storms and how they often fizzle out, but we think it’s fair to say that come Sunday if we’re all sharing memes of fallen-over outdoor chairs and that’s it, we’ll be happy.
In the meantime — consider the hatches battened, maybe have a little laugh below courtesy of incoming comedian Jimmy Rees below, and we’ll see you on Friday (whatever it may bring).

EAT & DRINK
Vic Park’s new matcha spot
When they first opened their doors in March 2024, Mama Mochi was the hottest bite in town – with hordes of people lining up to enjoy their mochi-wrapped ice cream. Sadly, it wasn’t meant to last – and the team have candidly talked through the ups and downs of the business on their socials.
Having wrapped up Mama Mochi at the start of February, they’ve taken a moment to recalibrate – and have relaunched with Mama Matcha, operating out of the same stylish Vic Park window.
After a gangbusters opening (in spite of every intention to keep things softly softly), they’ve briefly paused to make sure they don’t encounter the same issues as the previous iteration… But once they’re back up and running, expect to see a menu of specialty drinks like, of course, matcha lattes – as well as more boundary-pushing flavours like matcha mamajito, Tokyo-nana matcha, matcha earl grey lattes and even a banoffee coffee and butterscotch latte option.
