‘Anything Butt’: The cheeky debut exhibition from WA photographer, Annie Lila Smith

Photographer Annie Lila Smith is bringing her multi-sensory exhibition Anything Butt to Dunsborough (this weekend) and Fremantle (next) — a playful, quietly powerful celebration of bare bodies, raw landscapes and the way the two mirror each other more than we realise.

The series, Smith's first solo exhibition, has been five years in the making, beginning with a spontaneous shoot in the dunes of Wedge that unexpectedly sparked a long-term creative journey.

“Anything Butt came to life almost straight away… We had so much fun shooting these images, it felt good,” Annie says. “I try to live by feeling in life so I kind of just ran with the idea and chipped away at it over the years whenever an opportunity arose.”
