We love shouting out venues who survive the hospo journey in Perth long enough to celebrate milestones, so it’s equally important to shoutout long standing ones when they decide to pull up stumps, and Mexican Kitchen in Freo is longer standing than most! Opening in 1980, the family-friendly Tex-Mex restaurant has been the backdrop for many many celebrations over the past few decades, and they’ll be shutting up shop this weekend after 45 years on the Cappuccino Strip.

Mexican Kitchen says adios after 45 years
After 45 years on Freo’s Cappuccino Strip, Mexican Kitchen have announced they’ll be permanently closing their doors, with their last service set to be this weekend.
The closure was announced via the restaurant’s social media last weekend: “After 45 years we have decided it’s time for us to wrap up this journey and so on Saturday the 13th of December we will open our doors for the last time.”
