If today’s newsletter is looking a little green-tinged, wait ‘til you see tomorrow’s! St. Patrick’s Day has become one of the biggest days on the hospitality events calendar, so much so we’re sensing a very quiet afternoon in offices around the city tomorrow.

Before then, get a few ideas on where to visit for a pint or two of the good oil tomorrow, along with the return of Sporty Spice later this year, an exciting new sculpture trail in the Swan Valley, and a short-but-sweet wrap of the weekend’s AFL action for our two teams.

HOMES

A piece of WA architectural history has just hit the market

20 years after being featured in the 2006 Venice Architecture Biennale, one of Perth’s most intriguing contemporary homes has hit the market.

Poll House – or 45 Philip Road, Dalkeith – is the work of architect Gary Marinko.

Comprised of a primary residence and a separate, fully-contained studio at the rear of the 1,167sqm block, and completed in the early 2000s, Poll House would go on to be internationally featured at the 2006 Venice Architecture Biennale, as well as featured in the Phaidon Atlas of Contemporary World Architecture.

From the front entry through to the rear laneway, the site has been fully levelled – originally designed to create full wheelchair accessibility, but also resulting in the home nestling below the surrounding streetscape.
