In the immortal words of John Oliver (shoutout my Last Week Tonight fam) — it has been a busy week. And today we’ve got lots to tell you about, including:

  • A rootin’ tootin’ boot scootin’ country music-themed club coming to Northbridge next month;

  • Perth’s most expensive apartment is on the market;

  • Drum’n’bass icons Chase & Status are debuting their brand new live show in only three cities around the world later this year (guess one of them); and

  • Kuld Creamery is bringing back their viral winter fave, the Kuld Crumble.

Plus we’ve got another delish staff brekky recco — giddy up.

Yeeeeee-haw: A two-level country music club is opening in Northbridge next month

Perth will soon be home to a brand new late-night destination for country music, live bands, and boot-scootin'!

Arriving in Northbridge this May, Yee-Haw Bar is taking over the former Jack Rabbit Slim's space on the corner of Aberdeen and Parker Street — a two-level venue promising rowdy singalongs, a neon-lit dancefloor, and a country music programme centred on live performances.

The venue comes from Ben Maher, co-founder of Varsity Bar, whose family connection to Perth nightlife stretches back decades through his father Bob.

And in case you missed the memo, we're having a yeehaw-ing moment in Perth, with a whip-cracking country scene thanks to the venues like Honky Tonk in Freo and line dancing crews like the Cherry Steppers, who we spoke to recently…
