A bit under the weather as I’m typing this so let’s just jump straight in shall we? You’ve got a curvy, cavernous coastal home, Perth’s emerging million dollar suburbs, old mates Old Mervs are playing a huge Freo show later in the year, and Consumer Protection WA lays out what the go is RE: retailers accepting cash.

Truro Residence: A luxuriously cavernous coastal home
This week, we’re taking a look back – to a home we first saw on the market a few years ago, its striking image lingering in our minds ever since…
Located in South City Beach, Truro Residence was completed back in 2019 – and is the work of Subiaco-based studio Hillam Architects, whose portfolio focuses predominantly on multi-residential designs, but also includes commercial developments.
Here, however, they focus in just one luxury home on a sloping, coastal block – incidentally, just metres away from the stunning 10 Branksome Gardens that sold earlier this year.
We also likened that home to a coastal cave – but in many ways, the homes couldn’t be more different. Where 10 Branksome offers Mediterranean tranquility and swirling shapes that echo the curves of a seashell, Truro Residence is boldly angular, sharp and geometric and yet texturally organic, like a prehistoric weapon hewn from stone and nestled amongst the landscape.
