Parallel opens in Perth’s CBD
Do you remember hanging out at the old Toastface Grillah down Grand Lane? Or when Ghostface Killah did a surprise performance there? What a spot! What a time! What an era!
That original Toastface location opened back in 2013, making a big impact before closing their doors at the end of 2020. Last year, independent bookstore Pigface took over the Barrack Street tenancy connected to the laneway café spot, with the eventual hope that the café at its rear would be activated once more – the arrival of Pigface coinciding with some bright new murals livening up the laneway.
Softly opening at the start of this week, the Parallel is finally bringing the space back to life – continuing the legacy of its predecessor with toasties and coffees in the (at the risk of utilising a tired expression) iconic space.
