Cottesloe foreshore redevelopment is a go, community plaza to replace carpark
One of our most iconic beaches is getting a long-overdue makeover.
The federal government and Town of Cottesloe have announced a combined $15 million investment to transform the foreshore’s main car park into a public plaza, with new terraces, improved beach access and a proper pedestrian and cycling thoroughfare along Marine Parade.
The project — Stage 1 of a longer revitalisation plan that’s been in the works since 2018 — will convert Car Park One into an open plaza with grass terraces, additional trees and event space. Footpaths will be widened, and the road layout will be remodelled to help pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles share the space more safely.

Inside a colourful, collaborative Claremont renovation
It’s not all hot-on-the-market homes and brand-new projects around these parts – sometimes, we spot a home that stays in the back of our minds for years.
Couldn’t we argue that such is the sign of good design? Enduring beyond those first few flashy posts, and hopefully reflecting the real liveable longevity of the space?
Such is the case with this renovation – completed back in 2023, the project draws in light and colour to playfully transform a Claremont home.
At the heart of the renovation was a complete overhaul of the entry foyer…
