Day five of a self-imposed “don’t talk about w*****r in the intro” challenge and outside of this mention - success! Even with a diabolical weekend ahead (thoughts and prayers for my golf day tomorrow).
I will default to the next easiest topic though (sport), and throw a good luck to the boys in purple on Saturday night. No matter which side of the fence you’re on in WA, AFL Finals month is infinitely more fun when one of our teams is amongst it, so we’re chips in on the Dockers tomorrow (and hopefully beyond) ⚓⚓⚓

Freo’s Cool Room enters a new era with chef Drew Dawson at the helm
Nearly 14 years after first opening their doors, Fremantle institution The Cool Room is stepping into a new chapter. Tucked away on Holland Street next to charming vintage store Old Values, the café may be a little out of Freo’s main thoroughfare – but if the regulars are anything to go by, that’s only added to its appeal.

Last drinks at the Leo: Leopold Hotel to close after 116 years
After serving up beers, meals, live music, and a bit of rough’n’tumble attitude for well over a century, the Leopold Hotel — or “the Leo” to locals — is rolling out its last kegs this October.
