Perth is OK!’s editorial team is expanding. As much as we love the hustle of a two-person outfit (with the help of some wonderful contributors), what’s more exciting is helping spread the good word of Perth through the words of someone who knows their way around a typewriter.
Don’t worry — this doesn’t mean you’ll start seeing Perthonality gossip pages or whatever doom and gloom looms over us on any given day (you can find plenty of that elsewhere), but we’re looking for someone to help us go a little deeper into the all the incredible nooks and crannies that make Perth more than OK!
If perchance that’s you — or someone you know — feel free to check out/pass on the job listing below, where you’ll also find see some very luxe-looking renders for Kailis Hospitality Group’s new venture, Surreo; a couple of cute and/or fun things to do on the weekend; and a warm up to World Ocean Day WA next month.

Kailis Hospitality Group reveals plans for Sorrento seaside steakhouse
First announced back in September, Kailis Hospitality Group have revealed their plans for a huge new beachside hospitality precinct.
Located in Sorrento and part of the new ORA residential development, the first two venues of the precinct will be Surreo, a premium seaside steakhouse taking influence from both Basque and Roman cuisines, and its sibling Bar Surreo.
The Mediterranean influence was inspired by coastal location’s Italian history, with the suburb established by a family who named their new home after their former home of Sorrento, Italy – its own name reportedly derived from the Ancient Greek surreo, or “to flow together”.
“Having some authentic northern suburbs DNA in the venue was essential,” explains restauranteur George Kailis. “I had many friends that lived in Stirling and Dianella, the European influence in these suburbs was awesome – columns, statues of lions […].”
“The concept leans more toward a grillhouse than a traditional steakhouse, reflecting a menu that balances premium meats with a strong emphasis on seafood and vegetables.”
