Sharing a couple of Northbridge-adjacent articles has me feeling nostalgic for when I lived there (or thereabouts) over a period of 12-ish years. It gets a bum rap sometimes but it really is the beating heart of Perth nightlife for better and for worse, and I used to love walking around the streets on a balmy summer night as people from all walks of live went about their…well whatever it was they were going about.
Connies owner Tim Brown put it best when I spoke to him about it last year: “Whatever that stuff is – going to a show, going to restaurants, going to a book shop, having an ice cream, let alone, you know, falling about drunk, being stupid. Which makes this area so much more precious to protect. It’s so f*ing precious.”
And there really is no better time to experience Northbridge than Fringe time, which I hope you’re enjoying with some fun shows, great food, and even better people watching over the next few weeks…
