Here we are again – greeting you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on a Monday morning.
(In reality, I’m writing this rather bleary-eyed and scatter brained, late on Friday afternoon – but the thought of the weekend being almost within grasp is powering me through the end of my week’s to-do list!)
Hopefully when you read this, you’re revelling in a weekend well-spent – perhaps, if you’re anything like our team, regaling your colleagues with reviews of the food you ate, the movies you watched and the adventures you got up to.
I, for one, will be relishing the fact that Troy will be back at his desk – which means tomorrow’s newsletter will also be back to regular programming! Alas, parting is such sweet sorrow…
Until next time, friends!

Zonts Bakehouse expands: Inside Victoria Park’s newest croissant spot
“I think baking and engineering are actually very similar in ways that people don’t realise.”
Owner and baker, Lionel Chong, had never made a croissant when he decided to quit his job as an engineer and open Zonts Bakehouse.
With an existing store located on the corner of James and Fitzgerald streets in Northbridge, Zonts specialises in croissants – notoriously difficult for beginners to master, and requiring significant time and patience to laminate the dough and achieve the right amount of flakiness.
Now, he’s gearing up to open his second location in Vic Park later this week – and we popped by for a chat to Lionel and a sneak peek inside the new bakehouse.
