Piazza to welcome Pally Canteen
The Fremantle Piazza has been welcoming some excellent new additions of late – and this week sees one more, with Pally Canteen scheduled to open this Friday!
The little sister of North Fremantle all-day diner and art gallery Palette, pop up kiosk Pally will serve a curated selection of snacks (toasties, sandwiches and more), and – perhaps controversially! – will eschew hot coffees in favour of a menu of some of the specialty drinks that have been such a smash hit at Palette.
“We’re in the centre of Freo,” explained owner Jade in one of her TikToks following the pop up’s opening. “There is no need for us to have a coffee machine!”

If you’ve ever pressed your nose against the glass at AQWA’s underwater tunnel or been told off for getting a bit too handsy with the critters in the touch pool, we’ve got some exciting news for you.
The Aquarium of Western Australia has revealed plans for a major, multi-stage expansion and redevelopment — one that will add immersive new experiences, huge living reef displays, hands-on discovery spaces and a seaside café overlooking Perth’s northern coastline.
It’s the first major upgrade for an institution that’s welcomed over 10 million visitors since opening back in 1988, dive in below to find out what’s happening:
