Well I’ve left this to the very last minute again, woken by the sounds of what I can only assume is the previously-upright structure formally known as my TV antennae windsurfing on the roof. While I go deal with that, you can read Sal’s story about Croff’s new location in West Leederville, look at some very delicious baked goods, and try not to immediately beeline for a sweet treat before work this morning (go on, treat yourself).

Meet Croff 3.0, the bakehouse's new West Leedy location
“I just want people to come in and have a nice space to enjoy what they’re doing – and that’s good enough for me, honestly!”
Croff Bakehouse is embracing a new era. The first location appeared in the Perth CBD in January 2020. Frankly, we can’t think of a less fortuitous time to open a business in the CBD, but Croff defied all odds – opening a second store about a year and a half later at Raine Square, just around the corner from the original Barrack Street store.
Now, we’re sitting inside what owner Giselle Sim calls Croff 3.0: their shiny new HQ, located on West Leederville’s Southport Street.
As well as functioning as Croff’s central baking facility supplying the other two stores and their wholesale customers, the café at the front will offer a menu of brunch plates that showcase the bakehouse’s goods in a new light.

Melville Midwinter returns with fires, lanterns and live music to celebrate the winter solstice
One of our fave midyear events is back this June when Melville Midwinter returns for another night of fire, music and sunset wandering at Dyoondalup Point Walter.
The City of Melville’s annual winter solstice celebration takes place Saturday 20 June, running 5-8pm at Dyoondalup Point Walter Reserve.
It’s free, family-friendly and built for those of us who’d rather be out there livin’ than inside watching Netflix with roving performances, lantern-lit paths, crackling fires, hot soup, live music and more.
