Meet Vic Park's newest bakery, Beth's

Hello again — if the year feels like it’s flying by, that long weekend felt like a few seconds! That said we’ll take ‘em where we can get ‘em, and look forward to another four-day work week…

Looking ahead (or below as it were), Perth’s long-awaited surf park has finally broken ground, the Pinjarra Festival is coming up, and we get to know the team from Beth’s, Vic Park’s delightful — and delicious — new bakery.

A stunning part of the world whichever way you look at it, Denmark has become a more laidback alternative to the hustle and bustle of its more northern coastal counterparts like Dunsborough and Margaret River.

It’s a beautiful place to spend some time in, and fortunately it has a variety of accommodation options to enjoy:

Strolling through Vic Park’s new Baillie Hill precinct, we’re struck by the similarities to the renders we saw when it was still a building site – a charming scene of bustling community, complete with bicycles cruising past, frolicking families with happy dogs and big blue sky.

While the precinct is comprised of an impressive roster of venues – pub, pizzeria, gelato window and more – today our eyes are locked firmly onto Beth’s, Baillie Hill’s resident café and bakery.

Situated within the historic, heritage-listed rotunda of WA’s first maternity hospital, Beth’s takes its name from Elizabeth Baillie – the pioneering midwife who established the hospital back in 1912.

“She was a bit of a rock star,” says Beth’s owner Laurence Greenfield. “My girls are such a huge part of my life, and I’m so thankful to the midwives who helped us with our babies when they were born.”
