Morley Galleria finally gets its day with $240M redevelopment

Bit of housekeeping first up: Yesterday we were very excited about FOUND.’s Dog’s Refuge event on Sunday, which has now been postponed to the following Sunday (August 31) on account of the weather being a bit full-on for the furry cohort.

Bad news out of the way, it’s good news for the much-maligned Morley Galleria as it’s finally getting a spruce up later this year. Though if we can let you in on our million dollar idea (patent pending), we reckon instead of making it a big old whitewashed modern day shopping centre, why not keep the retro feel and encourage some of the stores to use their old logos and branding?

Throw in a few of those big gumball machines, some coin-operated rides, one of those wacky glass case Rube Goldberg machine type things that has marbles running along tracks and setting off different elements - you know what we’re talking about, right?

Maybe we’ve lost our marbles… Regardless, something to think about while you’re hopefully having a lovely weekend.
