One of our fave wine bars is doing bottomless lasagne!

Plus a new hike + pint combo, dog beaches and more.

Apologies in advance for the sombre throwback Thursday down the bottom of today’s newsletter, though like we assume at least a few of you out there, we had no idea where Koombana Bay got its name from. And any chance to learn a little about lesser-known parts of Western Australian history is time well spent in our opinion! You can learn more about it by clicking on the photo, which’ll take you to an in-depth piece on the WA Museum website.

CFORGOTTEN PERTHD

Throwback Thursday

On this day in 1912 the SS Koombana sank off the coast of Port Hedland in a tropical cyclone, with all 150 people on board lost - one of Australia's worst ever weather-related maritime disasters. It’s where Koombana Bay in Bunbury gets its name from, and here it is in 1909 at Port Hedland jetty.
