There are few things more uniquely Perth than popping down to Chu and grabbing a sweet treat/coffee before enjoying it in the delightful surrounds of Hyde Park on the weekend. That said the wait at the beloved bakery can get a little crazy, so if you are a bit tired of lining up, we have some fantastic news to share - meet the crew at Preston’s Deli…

Taking over the Bulwer Street space previously home to non-alc bottleshop Tomorrow on Tap (gone but not forgotten), Preston’s Deli caught our eye back in June when we spied some vividly chartreuse posters going up on one of our strolls through Highgate.

WE’RE POPPING INTO…

Smidge Bakery’s sudden closure caused hearts all over Perth to break, but they’ve been tiding us over with a weekend pop-up at Timely Coffee. You can catch ‘em there on weekends until October 27.

WEEKEND WALK

Often talked about as one of the best places for orchid hunters in Perth, Wireless Hill is home to an array of the more exotic orchids along with plenty of different types of wildflowers.

The Second Life Markets will be taking over ground level at the Leederville Hotel for a spring market with over 60 stalls of curated pre-loved, vintage and up-cycled sellers, art and more from 10am-3pm.

Located on semi-rural banks of the Avon River in Toodyay, you can relax and breathe in the clean country air at this art-filled and completely modern building with its tent inspired roof form, doors that slide away creating new rooms and more.
