Well here we are, it’s Friday once again and we must admit we’ve got an extra spring in our step with some sunshine on the cards over the next few days for the first weekend in what feels like forever. As such maybe we’re going a little early with the wildflower and waterfall list below, but it can’t hurt to plan ahead with a little optimism now can it?

There’s also plenty on to enjoy said sunshine on the weekend, with North Perth and Scarborough hosting some fun events if you’re not quite ready to get wildflower hunting just yet - enjoy!

Perth wraps up a wet winter for the record books

We’ve had our wettest August in seven decades and wettest winter overall in 30 years. On top of this, Perth also recorded its coldest day in half a century, with an icy maximum of 11.4 degrees on the final Monday of August – the lowest since July 1975.

North Perth Bowls Club on Sunday arvo

North Perth Bowlo is hosting a huge Sunday session in support of Neuromuscular WA. There’ll be accessible barefoot bowls, face painting, $100 flash tatoos, silent auction, great food and drink and more from 12-5pm.

Complete with scandalous proposals, unhinged declarations of love and wet t-shirt contests, played out by five actors covering 20 characters in 90 minutes of absolute bedlam.

Two long-lost shipwrecks discovered off the WA coast

After vanishing over a century ago, two long-lost shipwrecks have finally been located off the West Australian coast. The discoveries were made by the team from Shipwreck Hunters Australia with support from the WA Museum.
