Perth’s cosiest bars and pubs with a fireplace
Plus the new exhibition documenting Australia's motels over the decades.
If there’s one thing we don’t need to tell you, it’s that Lulu La Delizia in Subi is great - its virtues extolled by plenty of celebrated figures including most recently, Nigella Lawson: “[W]hen my schedule revealed I’d be in Perth last weekend, I couldn’t book my return visit to Lulu La Delizia fast enough,” she captioned an Instagram post, crowning owner Joel Valvasori the “Perth Prince of Pasta”.
So it will come as no surprise that we got ourselves quick smart down to their brand new neighbouring Cantina: “We want people to enjoy the space! We built this beautiful space, and I think it feels like it’s going to be a good room to sit in.”
Learn all about it during our chat with Joel below, along with some fireside drinking and eating options around town, an awesome new exhibition documenting Australia’s glorious motels over the decades and more:

Ooh la la, Lulu! Lulu La Delizia’s neighbouring cantina is now serving panini and aperitivi
Transforming the shop next door to the restaurant, Cantina is one part extension, one part standalone venue. La sorella, if you will – keeping the lace curtains but taking a Brutalist turn with a travertine bar, concrete-clad walls and ancient Roman graffiti-inspired artwork.
