A few days ago we got an email from a somewhat disgruntled reader suggesting we should start calling ourselves “Freo is OK!” with the amount of Fremantle-related stories we share. And while our temporary new-look colour-scheme isn’t a direct result of that email, we dedicate today’s edition to that reader.

Now, onto the matters at hand: I won’t pretend to have any kind of knowledge when it comes to the lingo of today’s youths, but someone at lunch yesterday mentioned Freo has a fair bit of aura about it at the moment, what with their beloved footy team being on the cusp of immortality and all.

So why not get amongst it? Choose fun! Choose community spirit! Choose getting a little too invested in a football team for one glorious week. Isn’t it nice to let yourself get excited about something for a minute? It sure beats running on that dreadmill every day, doomscrolling your way through a sea of AI slop and negative Facebook comments.

And then whatever happens at the end of the week, you can look back on a joyous, purple-drenched few days with all your pals and say you were there, and it was fun.
