Hoo boy — that sunny spring afternoon yesterday sure has us absolutely fiending for what lies ahead. Yes it’s only Thursday, and sure the weather might not be quite as lovely over the coming days, but you take the good with the bad. And to be fair, given the rather dry winter we just milded our way through, at this point we’ll take any and all specks of rain that we can get.

Two Perth mates who rode 1,100 kilometres in 10 days for charity last year are back for another crack at — and this time they’ve got Wadjemup / Rottnest Island in their sights.

Jason “Jase” Hobson and Nige Broomham are part of a five-rider team taking on The Rotto 600, riding 600 kilometres around the island over just two days on October 23 and 24 to raise money for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in WA.

The challenge will see the team complete roughly 22 laps of their own 27-kilometre island circuit, with a $100,000 fundraising target for We Are Mobilise.

Brisbane-born chain Motto Motto Japanese Kitchen has arrived in WA, with their first store opening at Currambine Central earlier this month. They’ll be celebrating the opening with the very enticing offer of $1 bowls of their classic tonkotsu ramen – available from 10am this Sunda until sold out (400 bowls available).
