It says a lot that even I, a certified sports non-enthusiast, got into the spirit and watched the game on Saturday – but that might just be the end of my career as an AFL fan, because I don’t think I could take another heartbreak like that!
Words of encouragement might seem hollow while the wound is still so raw, but the journey of Freo to get as close as they did – and the incredible community spirit that took over not just Walyalup, but the entire state – was really, truly! inspirational to behold.
