Reimagined City Beach Iwanoff Booth House has hit the market

A couple of years ago, we were lucky enough to peek inside Booth House…

Originally built in 1970, the City Beach home was designed by iconic Perth-based architect Iwan Iwanoff – but over the ensuing 50-plus years, it had lost some of its glimmer.

When we last took a look in 2023, it had just been thoughtfully reimagined by interdisciplinary design practice State of Kin – peeling back layers of insensitive renovations and rebuilt brick-by-brick, reinterpreting Iwanoff’s original design into a new age.

Now, it’s entering yet another era: Booth House is now officially on the market!

Located at 59 Oban Road, the four-bedroom home’s appeal transcends its impressive modernist design, with a 948sqm block just a stone’s throw from Floreat Beach.

New elevated walkway now open at John Forrest National Park

WA’s first national park has a new reason to visit.

A 250-metre elevated walkway has opened above Glen Brook at John Forrest National Park, offering sweeping views over the creek and surrounding granite outcrops.

The structure — built from corten steel and reclaimed spotted gum — winds through the eucalypt forest and sits high enough to give walkers a real sense of the landscape.

For now, access is from the eastern side via a new ramp and a short trail link off the Glen Brook walking track. Once the adjacent West Ridge amenities plaza and park hub are complete, the walkway will connect the West Ridge carpark through to the day use area and Jane Brook picnic areas, making it a natural spine for the whole precinct.

The walkway is part of a broader rejuvenation project that’s been reshaping the park over several years — including the new day use area with landscaped gardens, accessible picnic and barbecue facilities, and sealed paths opened back in February 2024.
