Saltline brings a fresh outlook and fresh beers to Dunsborough

Well, here we are – another weekend done and dusted, another Monday morning that’s rolled around. They just keep comin’!

I thought last week was chockas, but the week ahead is already look just as jam packed. Thank god Troy’s back – and I’m sure he’s feeling equally delighted to be back in the office after floating in a few pools and drinking a coupla beers on holiday last week. What’s a relaxing getaway compared to the charm and wit of your colleagues?!

While we all take a moment of appreciation for our coworkers on this Monday morning, I’ll also direct your attention below: to a spectacularly gooey raclette to bookmark for next weekend (it’s never too early), the new brewery that’s taken over Dunsborough’s Southcamp, and the almost-extinct orchid that just bloomed in Kings Park!

Saltline has only just opened its doors, but despite still finding their feet, the Dunsborough based brewery is already impressing with their offering, serving up a slew of top-notch beers, hearty pub-style meals and generally, a bit of something for everyone.

The new venture takes the place of what was once Southcamp Brewery. Still located within the Southcamp precinct – alongside Piccolo restaurant, Community Café and Southcamp accommodation – Saltline has found a home within the community space with owner Daz Harry (also the owner/operator of Pourhouse) getting to work on flipping the space on its head to provide a new experience that centres on locals but doesn’t forget about the towns many passing visitors.

Sunny by name, sunny by nature!

On the day we visit, Mount Pleasant’s newest café Sunny Box is living up to its name – with a flood of light illuminating the itty-bitty tenancy formerly home to Artem.

But it’s not just the welcome winter sunshine that’s helping the café fulfil its name – but the friendly, welcoming vibes cultivated by owners Moon and Joon.

At Sunny Box, the duo hope to showcase their decade-plus in Australia – not just everything they’ve learned, but supporting produce that exemplifies the state’s best.
