Well, here we are again: back at our desks for 2026, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed…
If you’re also back from your festive break, I’d like to send you a heartfelt congratulations for getting through the front half of the week – including what’s arguably the Monday-est Monday of the year. Hopefully you’re comforted knowing that the weekend (read: beach & beers) is only a few days away?
If this intro sounds a little different than usual today: you’re not mistaken. Normally, our fearless leader and Editor-in-Chief Troy Mutton writes these – but I’m taking over today while the big man enjoys a few extra days off for some much-deserved R&R. And while I’ve got the metaphorical mic in hand, I’m taking the opportunity to shine a little light on Troy’s hard work (and perhaps a little payback for his kind words in our final newsletter of 2025).
Jaws enthusiast, semi-retired DJ and the hardest working man in showbiz: Troy really is the glue that keeps our little team together. This is the person that keeps the wheels turning, with wise words a-plenty and an uncanny ability to contain the ever-growing and always chaotic world of Perth is OK! within his steady grasp. (You would not believe the number of emails this man receives!)
So thanks to Troy for being a huge legend – and thanks to you for welcoming us into your inbox for another year celebrating all that’s good in Western Australia!
