I know what you’re thinking: ‘Great, another wildly expensive house that I’ll never be able to afford.’ And look, we’re right there with you. But we’re also big old nosey parkers who offset some of that ongoing housing depression by having a little gander through a mega mansion from time to time. Or maybe we’re just masochists?
Either way, looking through obscenely massive homes like the one below is a bit more fun than a $1.2 million, 3×1 falling apart in the middle of nowhere, right? Plus sometimes it’s nice to be reminded that no matter how rich you are, money can’t buy style 😉
Anyway, gonna go grab a lotto ticket — see you tomorrow.

HOMES
Take a look inside WA’s most expensive home
Talking about expensive homes in the year 2026 might seem redundant – after all, show us a home that isn’t expensive these days…
But that doesn’t mean that we’ve lost our unrelenting desire for a stickybeak – and certainly not when it comes to the top tier, blue chip, crème de la crème of Perth’s luxury real estate.
And this one, located at 43 Saunders Street, Mosman Park… Well, just hearing the four magic words “Saunders Street, Mosman Park” is enough to pique our interest. REIWA data from 2025 listed it as Perth’s most expensive street, with an average house price of $10.25 million.
Unsurprisingly, neighbouring streets also regularly top the state’s sales charts – including 177 Wellington Street (just metres away) ranking as the most expensive home sold in 2024, clocking in at a mere $25 million when it sold in May that year.
And this home has broken its own records. It was bought in December 2009 by MinRes founder Chris Ellison for $57.5 million – at the time, it beat out the previous Sydney-held record of $45 million as the most ever paid for a private residential property in the entire country, and it remains the record holder for the most expensive home ever sold in WA. Perhaps a bargain compared to the $70 million asking price?
