A little shout out today!

Monday was a special day in the office, with our fearless leader, co-founder and Leo king Luke celebrating his [REDACTED]th birthday. He was presented with a birthday cheese board to commemorate the occasion, if you were curious!

I’m also in a bit of a celebratory mood myself, with this week marking my fifth anniversary at Perth is OK! That’s five truly delicious years of writing all about how great Perth is – alongside the best team in showbiz.

Yuck, that’s more than enough sincerity for this early in the day – instead, take a gander below for a lush home you can tour this weekend, the return of Scarbs’ newest festival, and the best spots around Perth for a cheeky BYO.

See ya tomorrow!

HOMES

Take a tour inside this award-winning Lathlain home

While the 2026 WA Architecture Awards may have been announced last month, the appreciation for our local design doesn’t have to stop there!

If you’ve been poring through the list of winners, wishing and waiting to get a closer look inside these stunning homes – we’ve got great news.

Designed by architects Dennis Silva and Anna Mustard for their young family, Lathlain House has been announced as the latest stop for DesignFreo’s On Location series.

The home won the WA Architecture Awards’ People’s Choice Award, as well as the Award for Residential Architecture – Houses (New) (WA). Judges described the home as “enchanting”, praising its “inventive spatial relationships” and “deep engagement with context”.

With a limited budget and a modest battleaxe block to match, the architects have transformed the small footprint into a generous family home.
