The best cheap eats around Perth

A good Monday morning to you all, especially the Perth Wildcats who romped into the NBL semi-finals over the weekend, smashing Melbourne United at RAC Arena on Saturday in a do-or-die affair. They’re back at RAC Arena this Saturday for Game 2, hopefully with a win in the bank against the Sydney Kings.

In fact it’s a massive week for WA sport, with the West Coast Fever kicking off their 2026 campaign at RAC Arena on Sunday, and both AFL teams starting their seasons, though playing away.

In just a few weeks, Scarborough Beach Amphitheatre will feel something it hasn’t in over a decade — the swell of a full-scale live music crowd as the sun drops into the Indian Ocean.

And for singer/songwriter Saritah, that setting couldn’t be more perfect.

“I love playing outdoors! And I love playing festivals! And I looove our beaches here (in Boorloo/Perth), they are literally some of the best in the world,” she tells us in the lead-up to Scarborough Beach Weekender, which arrives on Saturday 28 and Sunday 28 March.

Saritah joins a stacked Saturday lineup at the festival alongside L.A.B, Coterie, Corrella and Finn Alexander & The Forever Party — but for her, it’s the simple magic of performing by the sea that stands out most.

So your meal prep hasn’t gone too well this week (when does it ever?) and things are a little tight in the old wallet department.
