The best things to do in Perth this week

Plus Si Para's new kitchen team, and Freo Arts Centre wants your (tennis) balls.

We love a Derby week, even if - and this has been the case for a while now - the WA teams are about as far apart on the ladder and overall vibe as they’ve ever been. One, coming off their best win of the season. The other, quite possibly their worst loss. But, as one absolute mad man/scarred Freo supporter said in the office yesterday, are these not the perfect conditions for an upset?

You never know, maybe Harley Reid will announce his re-signing on Derby eve and get the boys fired?! Perhaps Freo are a bit knackered after accomplishing the toughest feat in AFL - an away win against those filthy knee-dropping Magpies? Or maybe Voss the Boss won’t accept West Coast’s dross and spearhead another huge loss, in the process allowing Eagles fans to toss in the towel even earlier than usual…
