It’s all starting to feel a bit 2020 out there isn’t it? So let’s put that Tuesday morning doomscroll on hold for five precious minutes this morning and try beam a little good news into your eyeballs (don’t worry, the less-fun stuff will definitely still be there when you’re finished).
For instance you can read about the boonta year WA had tourism-wise in 2025; or you could get reacquainted with Bunbury’s beloved Gnomesville population; find out who won awards at this year’s (pretty great) return of Sculpture by the Sea; and our personal fave when it comes to recent good news — the return of the good book… of Mormon! The ultimate musical for people who don’t like musicals — in this editor’s humble (see also: uneducated) opinion anyway.

Gnomesville: Everything you need to know
Practically on our doorstep, one of the world’s most unique – and mysterious – attractions is tucked away a mere 30-odd minutes outside of Bunbury.
The origins of Gnomesville are shrouded in mystery, but its popularity just keeps growing, as does its population – here’s everything you need to know about Gnomesville in the Ferguson Valley.
After surviving a devastating flood event in November 2024, the gnomes have rebuilt and are welcoming guests with (tiny little) open arms.

The Book of Mormon is coming to Perth this October
Legendary Broadway musical The Book of Mormon is returning to Perth, playing at Crown Theatre in October this year.
Making its world premier in 2011, the musical has gone on to win nine Tony Awards, a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album, and four Olivier Awards – breaking box office records across the US, UK and in Australia, including recording the highest single day of sales in West End history.
The Book of Mormon follows the story of two mismatched, earnest Mormon missionaries who travel far from their Salt Lake City home to Uganda – only to be faced with a vastly different experience than they’d envisioned.
