The Great Southern scores two new breweries

Plus a new pup-friendly stay in Jurien Bay is officially open.

While the concept of dual monitors in the workplace basically being standard issue at this point does keep me up at night (if we need two - sometimes three - huge screens to do work maybe there’s too much work), some days I do revel in using one of them for more nourishing content consumption.

And in yesterday’s case it was live-streaming the Margies Pro for most of the day, taking place in massive waves at Surfer’s Point. During that time I had the honour of witnessing 18-year-old local wildcard Willow Hardy take off on one of the bombs of the day. While she didn’t quite stick it and was knocked out of the comp, I figured I could use this little space to give her a well-deserved shoutout:

While WA’s Great Southern already has a solid selection of breweries under its belt, the expansive region can now boast two fresh additions to their beer scene with Albany’s Dune Beer Co. and Denmark’s Ocean Beach Brewing both opening in early 2025.
