A few little bits and pieces from the south all the way to the north today, bookended by a humble chippy down in Safety Bay getting rave reviews and PHat Brew Club setting sail for Hillarys with the opening of their second venue last week.
You’ll also find out where to score some very cheap schooners of Feral’s beloved Biggie Juice this arvo (coincidentally at one spot in the south, and one in the north); the launch of a new, free festival (in the north); the return of an iconic WA Train (in the south); the opening of Australia’s first Dave & Busters (in the north); and an epic charity bike ride in the…east. Dammit.
See you tomorrow!

Bayside Fish Shack: The humble Safety Bay chippy reeling customers in
“It’s not your average fish and chip shop, that’s for sure!”
Tucked away in Perth’s south and just a short stroll from the sand, Safety Bay’s Bayside Fish Shack is redefining what your local chippy can be.
Since taking over the venue in January, owner and head chef Bluker ‘Blu’ Seincho has been on a mission to elevate the neighbourhood favourite beyond its takeaway roots. And the result finds a relaxed, welcoming spot where you can still grab your go-to fish and chips — but you might just be find yourself staying a little while longer than intended.
“I know fish and chips are usually just takeaway, but we offer a bit more than that,” Blu explains. “I wanted to create a place for customers to chill, a little pocket of positive energy that triggers a nostalgic feeling.”
Inside, the menu leans into both comfort and creativity. Alongside classic beachside staples, you’ll find an enticing lineup of burgers, fresh salads and customisable options that give diners a little more freedom to mix things up. It’s casual dining with a thoughtful twist — unpretentious, but far from ordinary.
