A little hot tip from the lovely Kay via email this morning — who kindly let us know that beloved South Freo pizzeria Ruocco’s has closed up shop for the immediate future to get some renovations done. So shoutout Kay and please consider this us relaying the message to a few of you who may not know yet. We’ll keep you in the loop once they’ve got a reopening date, and you can pop into their sister spots Om Nom Nom and the Coogee Boathouse in the meantime!

Cancel your lunch plans: Big Buns Deli is slinging stellar sandos in the Perth CBD
It’s taking a lot of self restraint to not make the obvious joke, here – the one about liking big buns, and not being able to lie.
It’s made doubly hard by the fact that, well… We do like these buns, and we cannot lie!
These buns in particular are Big Buns, a new deli in the Perth CBD from chef Raphael Beilharz.
Opening their doors back in June, Big Buns have been slowly but surely building a devoted following – word of mouth recommendations for their stacked sandwiches rippling through the city streets.
“The response has been unbelievable, at first people didn’t take much notice of us, maybe because we are new or our sandwiches are more expensive than the ones down the street. But once people try something from us, they almost always come back and even bring friends. We’ve had heaps of referrals, word of mouth has been so amazing,” Raphael tells us.
“So many people try one thing from us and come back and get it again and again and again.”
