I hope I didn’t give anyone a fright yesterday – in an ironically apt representation of my brain’s state this week, the time warp of writing a newsletter a little too late in the day on a Tuesday for you all to read on Wednesday got the best of me! Thankfully, a brisk walk in the sunshine has cleared my mental cache – at least enough to know what day it is.

So, just to be clear, you’re reading this on Thursday – and good thing you are, because there’s heaps to get into all over Perth! There’s a jam-packed food news, including a new tapas spot opening in Applecross and some tasty specials happening this weekend, plus futuristic news on flying ferries coming to the Swan River. Who knew we’d get flying ferries before cars? Next thing you know, we’ll be getting a light rail system…

Bar Olé opens in Applecross

Esqulant Leisure Group – the same family-owned hospitality group behind Hillarys and Yanchep Beach Club – are going hell for leather, with a non-stop stream of new venues being announced.

Hot off the heels of Yanchep Beach Club opening in December and the February announcement of a new Ocean Reef pub, Applecross’ Bar Olé opened its doors over the weekend – the sister venue to their bar of the same name in Iluka. Like its northern counterpart, Bar Olé is serving up a Spanish-inspired, tapas-style menu – think classics like tortilla, pan con tomate, lots of grilled skewer pinchos and, of course, heaps of jamon. Olé!
