Every time I take over this newsletter, I have a newfound appreciation for the never ending, Sisyphean task that Troy undertakes: writing this introduction, every single freakin’ day.
Less than a week he’s been away and I’m already grasping at straws – a feeling not helped by writing on a very sleepy working-from-home afternoon following a busy morning eating a big ol’ sandwich (all in the name of hard-hitting news, of course – you’ll see that one next week!).
I’ll be back in your inbox, bright eyed and bushy tailed, on Monday – after which Troy will (blessedly) be back to take the reins once more.
In the meantime, I hope you have a truly fantastic weekend, that you get to go outside, eat something really delicious and talk to someone really funny (I’m fully booked, sorry).

Come for the surf, stay for the pals: Meet the Secrets Boogie Boarders
Head down to Secret Harbour Beach on a day when there’s a bit of swell and there’s a good chance you’ll spot a group of women laughing, chatting and cheering each other into the waves.
Some have been bodyboarding their whole lives. Others are giving it a go for the very first time. There are teenagers, young women, mums, grandparents and occasionally a few little ones joining in too.
There are no competitions, memberships or rigid schedules. In fact, the whole thing is about as casual as it gets.
Known as the Secrets Boogie Boarders, the group has grown from two friends enjoying a few summer waves into a community of over 150 women from across Perth and Peel. And while the boogie boarding may be what first brings people down to the beach, it is the friendships that keep them coming back.
