Well WA may have missed the W on Saturday but it looks like the Origin format is back with a vengeance (as long as WA always plays and it’s always here!). Earlier that day Perth Lynx did get up and will look to move straight to the big dance by hopefully beating Bendigo over their way on Tuesday.
And for those of you who don’t give a flying football about sport then the rest of this newsletter if for you! Including a couple of articles on our favourite topic — quirky science stuff happening around WA, including some good news regarding one of our absolute favourite WA animals, black cockatoos.

HOMES
A mid-century South City Beach home reimagined as a permanent holiday
Nope, this isn’t Perth’s latest hotel opening.
That pool might have fooled you for a second, but this is actually a newly renovated home in South City Beach. And we’re not talking about a surface-level refresh or a simple lick of paint: this is a complete reinvention. The kind that takes a dated house and turns into an entirely new home. A resort-style dream, where every detail has been thoughtfully reworked.
The mid-century home has been transformed into a relaxed coastal retreat by designer Sinead Mills of Sinead Mills Design. Set opposite a leafy park and just a short stroll from the beach – 550 metres to be exact – it’s close enough that you can smell the salt in the air.
