A flag would mean the world to the Dockers, but what could it deliver to Fremantle?
A couple of things up front. Firstly, I’m a West Coast supporter. Don’t hold it against me.
And secondly, I’m not here to jinx anything. I promise…
But as the Fremantle Dockers head into September with their best shot at landing a maiden AFL premiership, I reckon it’s worth exploring what it could mean for the port city.

Fremantle Chamber of Commerce CEO Chrissy Maus doesn’t mince words when we catch up for a quick chat. But while she’s nervous our chat might spit out some bad juju, it doesn’t take her long to flick the switch to excitement about what a Freo flag could deliver to its hometown.

$22 appears to be a bit of a running theme lately (recession indicators etc. etc.), but we’ll take a 22-buck steak and chips wherever we can get one. And if it happens to be at one of our fave Irish pubs — even better.

Casa Fuego comes to Northbridge
A new Mexican spot has opened its doors in Northbridge, with Casa Fuego taking over the former Phoenix Hotpot BBQ on William Street, opposite the Rechabite.
Celebrating their grand opening back on August 19, the menu reads like a who’s who of what we want to eat after a few too many spicy margs or equally spicy micheladas – birria beef and fried fish tacos, burritos (with the option to add a few beer battered chips inside), cheesy jalapeño bites and the like.
And up until September 2, Casa Fuego is offering a saucy little deal to celebrate the opening, with $5 birria tacos and $10 classic margs. Yeeee-haw!
