Happy last-long-weekend-for-a-few-months-eve to all who celebrate — or commiserate, as it were.

Today we’re getting you reacquainted with a Subi stalwart, Lady of Ro, which is now in the hands of Perth hospo stalwart, Daniel Goodsell. And if you’re looking for some activities to do over the long weekend, we’ve kept it mostly undercover/indoors — we know the first big rains of winter are always a little foreign to us Perth ‘it’s a dry heat’ folks.

See you next Tuesday!

“Lots of energy, no egos.” Let us reintroduce you to the new-look Lady of Ro

“It’s a bit of a full circle!”

It’s a blustery afternoon, and we’re perched at the bar at the freshly-reopened Lady of Ro, having a good old yarn with new owner Daniel Goodsell.

Does the name sound familiar? The experienced restauranteur has had a hand what can only be described as a breathtaking number of Perth’s landmark venues – places including Balthazar, Duende, il Lido, Bread in Common, Coogee Common, Billie H, Gordon Street Garage, Alex Hotel and Shadow, Ode to Sirens, and now, Lady of Ro.

The Rokeby Road restaurant has been a key part of Subiaco’s dining landscape for about 15 years – originally under the stewardship of Despina and Brian Tanner, who before opening the restaurant, also owned Boucla next door before (and opened John Street Café back in the ’80s).
