What's open this public holiday Monday
Plus a few other hot tips for the long weekend ahead.
A new tidbit for the pub chat if you happen to be in one on Monday: We celebrate Labour Day on the first Monday in March to recognise the eight-hour workday movement, which fought for fairer working conditions and the right to an eight-hour workday (remember those?). It’s different around the country according to when the eight-hour workday was officially recognised, which in WA was way back in 1879.
Who knows, maybe one day we’ll have to create another public holiday later in the year to mark the commencement of the four-day work week, if you don’t mind me donning my lazy millennial hat for a moment 😉
